Our Mission
Hello, my name is Kelly Shen.
Through an independent research project, I learned that performing CPR within the first few minutes of cardiac arrest can increase survival rates by two to three times. Despite this, bystander CPR rates remain low—ranging from just 15% to 45% in the U.S., and as low as 5% in some Chinese cities. This inspired me to found Project CPR, an initiative focused on educating students in underserved schools and breaking the fear and hesitation around performing CPR.
CPR is crucial because when someone's heart stops, every second counts—and emergency services often can't arrive quickly enough to save a life. Without immediate intervention, brain damage and death can occur within minutes. Empowering everyday people with the knowledge and confidence to act can mean the difference between life and death.
Our team is dedicated to providing CPR education in schools that lack these programs and to reducing the fear and hesitation surrounding this vital skill. We want everyone to understand that you don’t need to be a doctor or EMT to save a life—you have the power to make a difference!
